Settings - Templates

Templates allow developers to create physical code files which web editors can assign to particular pages, example: you may have a web page which requires a different look to the standard template.
There are three Templates that are already created for you.
These are:
  • Content Template
  • Listing Template
  • Home Template

Adding a New Template

  1. Click on ‘Templates’ from the main tree under Settings. On the top horizontal bar you can choose from two options: ‘Templates’ and ‘Site Assign’.
  2. To add a new Template, click on the ‘Add New Template’ button. This will open up a new window where you can populate the following fields:
    1. Title: Enter the template title here.
    2. Technology: Depending on what language you have built your website in, you will need to select the relevant technology.
There are two options available from the drop-down menu: ‘ASP.Net Webforms’ or ‘ASP.Net MVC’.
    3. Location: As you type your template title, this will automatically populate the location field.
This is the physical location of the template.
  3. Once complete, click the ‘Save Template’ button.
This will bring you back to the work-space, where you can review and add new Templates. You can ‘Delete’ Templates by choosing ‘Delete’ in the Actions drop-down menu.

Site Assign

To show the newly created Template option in the Page Details area, you are required to assign the Template to a particular website.
  1. Click on the ‘Site Assign’ option from the top horizontal bar.
  2. Select your website from the drop-down menu and then check each checkbox under ‘Is Active’ for each website you want the Templates to show under.
  3. Depending on the content area of your physical website template, set the width here in pixels to give it a good representation of page width size in the editor.
